Discrimination Policy


The Research Foundation is committed to protecting the legitimate interests of its employees to work in an environment that is free of discrimination. The policy and procedure regarding allegations of discrimination has been established to ensure that the work environment for all employees at the Research Foundation is free of discrimination and to ensure that those people who feel they have been discriminated against have a means to resolve the situation.


Employees will not be discriminated against on the basis of age, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, or sex, except where sex is a bona fide occupational qualification.

When a person believes that he or she has been the victim of discrimination, the management of the Research Foundation of State University of New York is committed to addressing the allegation as quickly as possible. A complainant will not be retaliated against or treated adversely in any way for participating in an allegation of discrimination. To the extent possible, the confidentiality of discrimination complaints will be maintained.

Informing Employees

At new employee orientation time, employees should be provided with the Procedure for Resolving Allegations of Discrimination.
