SUNY 4E Network Past Events:

> August 8-9, 2013: The SUNY 4E Network held its inaugural retreat at the Carey Conference Center in Rensselaerville.  Faculty leaders from SUNY doctoral campuses participated in discussions on "Big Ideas" in energy, environment, education and economics.

SUNY 4E (Energy, Environment, Economics, Education) Network of Excellence

The vision of the SUNY 4E network is to conduct research across SUNY programs related to energy and the environment with associated economic considerations and educational programming.  Identify and bring together faculty across SUNY in partnership with key academic institutions, private sector, and national labs.

Funding is available for the development of multi-campus research projects in areas that will provide the initial foundation for long term, sustainable research partnerships that can build on SUNY's expertise toward a national center designation in the 4E areas.

There include:

  • Travel funds for a small group of investigators from across SUNY campuses to meet to establish and develop partnerships;
  • Speaker series that bring together SUNY faculty with visiting scholars to examine new trends, review promising findings, and explore professional developments in their fields and on other campuses;
  • Student exchanges (including the opportunity for research experiences for undergraduates) between SUNY campuses for periods ranging from a few days to a few weeks, to build collaborative efforts;
  • Workshops/Institutes for SUNY faculty and visiting scholars.
