Privacy Policy

The Research Foundation of State University of New York (RF) is committed to respecting the privacy of all visitors to our electronic site. The RF recognizes the need to appropriately manage and protect personal information that you share with us.  This privacy policy reflects our commitment to treating your information with care.

If you are an RF or SUNY employee, you must register for a user name and password to gain access to the internal site.  The registration process will require you to provide us with identifying information, such as your name, location, email address, phone number, and in some instances, social security number.  This information will allow us to prepare a personal user ID for you, create and troubleshoot accounts, and will facilitate your access to internal RF information and applications.

All users may visit the external Web site (www.rfsuny.org) without providing any personal identifiers.  Public Web site users may volunteer personal information to register to receive additional information and/or foster business relationships with the RF.

Certain Web pages on our site may utilize “cookies,” identifiers which a Web site can send to your browser to keep on your computer in order to tailor information to you and facilitate future visits.  Settings should be available on your browser that, if selected, will notify you when you receive a “cookie” and allow you to choose whether to accept it or not.  The information that we collect and analyze by sending you “cookies” is used to improve our service to you as a visitor to our site.

We are committed to respecting your privacy, and will take reasonable steps to ensure that this privacy policy is followed throughout our organization.  We will also take steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure.

The Research Foundation of SUNY does not share with, or sell information to, any outside agencies or businesses.  However, information may be disclosed to appropriate authorities in conjunction with applicable law.
